King William IV & Queen Adelaide: A pair of invitations to the Coronation of King William IV & Queen Adelaide, 8th September 1831, Westminster Abbey, inscribed for the seating area ‘Choir Upper Gallery’, ‘North Door No. 25’ and ‘North Door No. 26’, stamped Norfolk, Earl Marshall, with embossed coat of arms to lower right, both folded, the invitations individually framed, glazed and mounted,
the invitations 10 x 7 inches (245x178mm)

The invitations are inscribed to a husband and wife who were invited to attend the Coronation.

The coronation ceremony of King William IV (1765-1837) was praised for the lack of extravagance, abandoning the banquet, the eventual cost being one tenth of that of his brother George IV.
