The Movie

This now lost silent era film starred Mae Murray “The Girl With The Bee Stung Lips” in the role of the vamp Cecilie Brunne.

The film was written especially for Murray by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez and based on the Greek myth of Circe. For this movie version however, instead of using magic the character uses alcohol, partying and gambling!

The movie was the last collaboration between Mae Murray and her then husband director Robert Z. Leonard.
