Reginald Mount (1906 – 1979) was a British artist and graphic designer know particularly for his poster designs. During the Second World War he worked for the Ministry for Information producing propaganda and public safety posters. Mount first began working here with Eileen Evans, who would become his long-term collaborator.
Many of Reginald Mount’s posters are instantly recognisable including his now iconic design for Ealing Studios Comedy The Ladykillers (1955).
Reginald Mount and Eileen Evans formed the Mount/ Evans Studio during the 1950s where their output included posters, album cover art and promotional material of all types. The Keep Britain Tidy illustrations from this period are perhaps some of their most famous. Reginald Mount pieces do not often appear on the market, the original artwork for The Ladykillers sold in 2019 for over £12,000.
